  • Which of the reading frames (if any) of the reading frames you translated is an open reading frame, i.e., does not contain a stop codon?
    • +1, -2, and -3 are open reading frames.

Electronic Lab Notebook

Week 2 Assignment:

  1. Wrote out complementary DNA strand.
  2. Transcribed the DNA strand into two different mRNA strands.
  3. Broke up the mRNA strands in to 6 different reading frames 3 different frames per mRNA strand.
  4. Translated mRNA codons to amino acids using the mRNA codon translation chart.
  5. Wrote down the open reading frames at the end of the question.
