7. Both Gene X and Y had similar patterns of transcription. They rose at hour 3 and then decreased through hours 5 and 9.

9. Most spots would be yellow at the first point because the ratio of red and green would be the same.

10. TEF4 was reduced through the experiment because it went from yellow to green. It may have been reduced because it takes energy to induce TEF4, and the organism is lacking glucose which is its only energy source.

11. TCA cycle genes can be used for synthesizing energy from cellular componenets, such as lipids. Without glucose, TCA will be activated in order to maintain essential functions.

12. If the cell uses the same transcription factors, the enzymes would have similar expression profiles, meaning they could be expressed or repressed simoultaneously.

13. I would expect them to be red, because these would be experimental DNA.

14.The spots would be red.

15. By losing a repressor or over expression of inducer could facilitate transcription where it should not be facilitated. This transcription could come across a different reducer, and could decrease transcription.

16. For this experiment, I think you would want to see yellow spots. By overexpressing a gene, you would see red spots, and deleting a gene would lead to green spots.
